Oh Happy Day...

Have you ever had such a busy hectic day that you barely had time to stop for the bathroom and lunch? Yeah, we all have at some point. Most often at the end of those days we are so happy to be going home and getting to relax. This past week I had one of those days, and dreaded leaving. I think I have found a place that I could happily spend every working day of my adult life: the Labor and Delivery unit. It was such a great day with even greater outcomes, that I can see why nurses spend entire careers there.

So now my next goal after graduating and passing boards of course, is to get a position in labor and delivery. So every day can be as wonderful as that one. (a little to optimistic, I know).

Hazards of Life

As I sit, reading and researching; it at times becomes disheartening. After months of pain and troubles, it is relieving to have knowledge of what has been causing me so many problems. However, the more in depth I learn, the more I know this is going to be a life long difficulty. A little background on the condition: joint pain, swelling, and inflammation. Eventually leading to disability and deformity, throughout the disease/ aging process.

At times it seems as though when life starts to straighten out and seem reasonable, something must happen. There always must be an obstacle in the path. As if school, work, and family life were not enough to keep me busy. Till things straighten out again, I will just keep going along with my new regimen hoping for an end to this to not so friendly flare.

New York...New York

Last month we took a short little family trip out east to New York to stay with family. It was amazing. We had a wonderful time catching up with everyone. It had been way to long since we had seen anyone. It was Ty's first experience on an airplane, which he loved and he keeps asking when he can take another one to go back. He also got to experience the ocean for the first time. He spent every day we were there at the beach. Luckily it was just a short walk. It was a great recharge after, much stress with school, work, and life. However, it was hard to leave.

Memories

I have a lot of time to think as I commute to school each day. I use this time to ponder life and the complexities of it, quite often. Earlier this week I got caught up in memories of my childhood. It made me proud of how blessed I was as a child with such a loving family. However, it broke my heart that some of the most amazing times of my life, all I have left is memories. Small blips stuck in my head that I can never fully share with another individual the way I initially experienced them. It is like having a jar full of memories that you must enjoy them through, but as you age the jar gets harder to view. This is hard for me to deal with; memories are all I have left of so much. There are so many things that can never be again, no matter how much I would try.
